The Embassy of the Republic of Angola in Singapore opened today, 13/7 until Friday, 15/7, the Book of Condolences for the passing away of His Excellency Eng. José Eduardo dos Santos, former President of the Republic of Angola.
With the same purpose, the Book of Condolences was also opened in the Republic of the Philippines, where the Embassy has an office. The Digital Book of Condolences is also active, essentially aimed at the other countries under the Embassy’s jurisdiction.
In his message of condolences on signing the Book, His Excellency Ambassador Daniel António Rosa wrote that “it was with deep dismay and sincere regret that I learned of the death of His Excellency Eng. José Eduardo dos Santos, former President of the Republic of Angola.
Angola has just lost a great icon of its entire trajectory; a man who has always fought for the cause of his country and the Angolan people in all dimensions.
In this moment of sorrow and pain, we bow before his memory, presenting on behalf of the employees of this Embassy and on my own, my sincere condolences, as well as conveying my deep feelings to the Executive of the Republic of Angola, to the Ministry of External Relations, and to the bereaved Family, for the incalculable loss suffered by our country”. Members of the Diplomatic Corps accredited in Singapore, the Philippines and other States under the jurisdiction of the Embassy; politicians and distinguished civil society personalities are paying tribute to the late ex-President of the Republic of Angola, who died on the 8th of July in Barcelona, Kingdom of Spain.
