Elections2022: PHA is first on the ballot

The Humanist Party of Angola (PHA) is ranked first on the ballot for the general elections on August 24, the National Electoral Commission (CNE) dictated the draw on Wednesday.

Here is the order of the draw:

1-PHA (Angolan Humanist Party)

2- P-NJANGO (Nationalist Party for Justice in Angola)

3- UNITA (National Union for the Total Independence of Angola)

4- FNLA (National Front for the Liberation of Angola)

5- CASA-CE (Broad Convergence for the Salvation of Angola- Electoral Coalition)

6- APN (National Patriotic Alliance)

7 – PRS (Party of Social Renewal)

8- MPLA (Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola)

The draw, held at the premises of the National Electoral Commission (CNE), under the guidance of the president of the institution, Manuel Pereira da Silva, was attended by representatives of the list of competing political forces, among other invited personalities.

This year’s elections, which will have the participation of Angolans in the diaspora for the first time, are the fifth in Angola’s history, after those in 1992, 2008, 2012 and 2017.

Of the total of over 14 million voters expected at the polls, 22,560 are from the diaspora, spread across 25 cities in 12 countries in Africa, Europe and America.

Abroad, the suffrage will take place in countries such as South Africa (Pretoria, Cape Town and Johannesburg), Namibia (Windhoek, Oshakati and Rundu) and the Democratic Republic of Congo (Kinshasa, Lubumbashi and Matadi).

Also in Africa, Angolans residing in the Republic of Congo (Brazzaville, Dolisie and Ponta Negra) and in Zambia (Lusaka, Mongu and Solwezi) will be able to vote.

Outside the continent, they will also vote in Brazil (Rio de Janeiro, Brasília and São Paulo), Germany (Berlin), Belgium (Brussels), France (Paris), United Kingdom (London), Portugal (Lisbon and Porto) and the Netherlands (Rotterdam).
